QSMEE and the
PINE VALLEY MINIATURE RAILWAY
Our Society has a diverse range of members and some other interests involve traction engines, stationary steam, petrol engines, propeller and jet aircraft engines and tool making.
The Society operates the Pine Valley Miniature Railway on its five acre landscaped property with over 2,000 metres of 7¼” and 5″ gauge ground level track, and approximately 180 metres of 5″, 3½” and 2½” gauge elevated track.
On the first Sunday of the month is our “Members Day” where members play trains or fix things – as the need be. If you are looking to join the Society, this is a good day in getting to know fellow modelers.
The second Sunday of the month is our formal running day when invited public come along and enjoy their train rides and our facilities.
Wednesdays are generally our work days. Members will attend to building and maintaining our track and facilities.
The Society prides itself on fostering all aspects of model engineering even though operating locomotives is the main activity. All members are expected to participate in both the promotion of the hobby and the upkeep and maintenance of the facility. While we welcome and encourage new members, each member will be expected to contribute to the upkeep of our Railway.
If you wish to visit for a train ride, please see the information on the “Visit Us” page. We have to manage the number of visitors on site and because of the popularity of our run days, a pre-purchased ticket is a must.
